“It’s reduced the amount of time that staff spend on administration, allowing for more time being spent providing quality services to our children and youth.” - -Ian Edwards, Executive Director, Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Club

Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club Can Keep Doors Open to Kids Year-Round Thanks to Salesforce Technology, Resources and People

Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club has been active since 1921, providing services to enhance the lives of children, youth, and their families, and building the pathways for a brighter future. Salesforce.org has partnered with the Kiwanis Regent Park Clubhouse since 2004, when Salesforce employees first began volunteering at local events and programs. Since then, the partnership has expanded beyond employee engagement to include all three pillars of the Salesforce 1-1-1 Model: technology, people, and resources.

In 2014, Kiwanis began using Salesforce to manage their donors and members, and it was a true game-changer for their fundraising operations. “With the deployment of Salesforce we have been able to manage everything we have ever dreamed of ― donors, funding, staffing… it has put all of the right information in front of the right staff at the right time” says Ian Edwards, Executive Director. “It’s reduced the amount of time that staff spend on administration, allowing more time to be spent providing quality services to our children and youth.”

Salesforce.org awarded more than $220,000 to the Regent Park Clubhouse in 2013 as part of a Healthy Communities initiative. This funding helped senior leadership meet the objectives of their three-year strategic plan to enhance the club’s programs and reach more youth. It also allowed the Clubhouse to keeps its doors open during holidays, weekends, and non-supported school days, so that kids now have year-round access to services. Hundreds of members benefited from the additional 520 hours of programming.

Salesforce employee volunteers continue to contribute to a variety of programs and events at the Regent Park Clubhouse throughout the year, from the annual holiday party and summer reading circles, to the recent launch of a weekly computer coding club, which brings mentorship to youth through STEM education. “The quality of the volunteers that come from Salesforce is unmatched. Their enthusiasm and willingness to get the job done in order to improve the lives of youth has always been evident.” says Edwards.
